About Xi'an Guide
We are an independent team of Xi'an locals who have been exploring and documenting this city since 2019. This site is our honest, practical gift to future visitors.
Who We Are
We are a small group of friends based in Xi'an. We started this project because we were frustrated with the outdated, inaccurate, and often AI-generated travel information about Xi'an online. Most guides are written by people who have never been here. We are not a travel agency. We do not sell tours. We do not accept payment for recommendations.
Li Wei
History & Culture Writer · Xi'an since 2019
Li Wei has visited every major museum and historical site in Shaanxi province at least three times. Before writing travel guides, he worked as a research assistant at the Shaanxi History Museum. He handles our attraction guides, itineraries, and history deep-dives.
Wang Fang
Food & Culture Writer · Xi'an since birth
Wang Fang grew up in Xi'an's Beilin District, inside the city walls. She has eaten at over 300 restaurants and street stalls since 2020, keeping detailed notes on which shops are still good and which have declined. She writes our food guides, nightlife recommendations, and shopping tips.
Chen Yu
Photography & Practical Guides · Xi'an since 2021
Chen Yu is a Xi'an-based photographer who has shot the Terracotta Warriors in every season and lighting condition. He handles all our practical infrastructure content — transportation, payments, SIM cards, visa guides — because he has personally test-run every route and setup process.

Every word on this site is written by a human who has physically visited the place being described. We do not use ChatGPT or any AI tool to write our guides.
Prices verified in person
Every ticket price, meal cost, and hotel rate is checked at the actual venue. Our most recent verification round was in July 2026.
No paid recommendations
We do not accept money, free stays, or commissions from any hotel, restaurant, or tour operator. Our recommendations are based solely on our own experience.
Updated regularly
Xi'an changes fast — new metro lines, new restaurants, price changes. We review and update our content every quarter.
Honest about negatives
If a place is overpriced, crowded, or not worth the trip, we say so. We'd rather save you time and money than inflate expectations.

How We Research & Verify
Every piece of information on this site goes through a three-step verification process before publication:
Field Visit
At least one team member physically visits the location. For attractions, we take notes at the gate. For restaurants, we eat there and pay full price. For hotels, we check rooms in person.
Cross-Reference
We check our observations against official attraction websites, government tourism portals, and recent traveler reports. If our experience contradicts what is commonly published, we return for a second visit.
Review & Update
All pages are reviewed quarterly. Ticket prices, opening hours, and restaurant quality are rechecked. If a restaurant has declined or a metro line has changed, we update within one week of noticing.
Our most recent full verification round was completed in July 2026. All prices, hours, and recommendations on this site reflect that round.
